Design System Designer

We’re seeking a Product Designer for our Design System to take ownership of our product design system and work closely with the product design team and engineering partners to build and maintain the design system that is used for Nulab’s core products: Backlog, Cacoo, and Typetalk. You’ll advocate for our users who range from experienced developers to students who are using Nulab products to collaborate and work online.

Responsibilities 

  • Work with our global team of designers, engineers, and a UX writer in a remote work environment
  • Strengthen the existing design system by creating and documenting components, iconography, and color palettes.
  • Improve the visual and interaction design of Nulab products.
  • Design and update components for the existing design system in a detail-oriented way, meeting the requirements of accessibility standards WCAG2.0
  • Create efficient processes for collaboration and implementation
  • Coordinate with the product design team, engineering teams, and marketing team to provide a consistent customer experience
  • Ensure that libraries and assets are documented and implemented
  • Maintain the library on Figma and make updates based on feedback from stakeholders and users.
  • Train designers and engineers on how to utilize the Design System components and principles.
  • Provide and maintain the design system with full-fledged components including all states and types.
  • Lead efforts to provide clarity and drive adoption of the design system. Train designers and engineers on how to utilize the Design System components and principles.

You May Be Fit For This Role If You: 

  • Have 3-5 years of experience in UX with an emphasis on systems design with a portfolio demonstrating your skills
  • Are user-focused and have a working knowledge of accessibility guidelines for web
  • Have strong skills in Figma creating components and libraries
  • Have knowledge of web UI technologies
  • Can embrace teamwork, and communicate your ideas effectively through various channels.
