Git Workshop 2014, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
On 25th October, we organized a Git workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
We have recently published our Git Beginner’s Guide for Dummies in Vietnamese, and this workshop was aimed at providing a hands-on tutorial for Git beginners.
From 2.30pm to 5.00pm, the participants – which included people from VNG, Gameloft, Outsprin, Younet as well as students, got busy on their laptops at the University of Science (HCMC) IT Center.
During the tutorial, we shared about the use and functionality of version control systems and the one of Git in particular. We also taught basic Git commands such as git config, init, status, add, commit, remote and push.
The tutorial was split between individual and group tasks to create a good amount of interaction for the participants.
After a long but rewarding afternoon, we concluded the workshop with a networking event. It was a chance for all of us to make new friends and to let people know more about Nulab and our operations.
As the main organiser, we would like to express huge thanks to our partner, EVERRISE VIETNAM, for the kind support throughout the event.
Last but not least, we would also like to thank everyone who has participated and supported our first Git workshop in Vietnam. We look forward to coming back with more exciting workshops and activities!
