Important: Discontinuation of Cacoo Plus Plan and Legacy Free Plan
We will be discontinuing contract renewals for the Plus Plan and Legacy Free Plan of Cacoo, our online diagramming tool, on Thursday, January 28, 2027. If you are using either of these plans, please migrate to another plan.
Affected plans
The following two plans will be discontinued. New sign-ups for both plans have already been closed.
- Plus Plan
- Legacy Free Plan
If you are using Cacoo on any other plan, this discontinuation will not affect you.
Plan discontinuation schedule
Thursday, January 28, 2027
Contract renewals for the Plus Plan will no longer be available. For the Legacy Free Plan, a screen prompting migration to a new plan will appear when you open Cacoo.
The first contract renewal date on or after Thursday, January 28, 2027
The Plus Plan will terminate on the final day of your contract period following Thursday, January 28, 2027, at which point a migration option based on your number of sheets will be displayed.
You may continue to use the service as usual until the end of your currently active contract period.
Friday, January 28, 2028
The Plus Plan will be discontinued.
The Legacy Free Plan will be discontinued in phases.
Reason for discontinuation
New sign-ups for both the Plus Plan and Legacy Free Plan have already been closed. Therefore, we have decided to sunset these plans entirely, including contract renewals.
What changes after the discontinuation
Restrictions will apply from the following dates, depending on your plan:
- Plus Plan: The end date of your contract period on or after Thursday, January 28, 2027
- When your contract period ends, the Plus Plan will transition to the Legacy Free Plan
- Legacy Free Plan: Thursday, January 28, 2027
Once restrictions apply:
- A screen prompting migration to another plan will appear when you log in
- You will not be able to perform any actions other than migration
- Public links will be disabled. Boards embedded on external websites via public links will no longer be displayed.
Plans you will migrate to
You will need to migrate to another plan yourself. Migration moves the boards in your legacy plan space to a newly created organization or an existing organization.
If you migrate to a newly created organization or an organization without a Cacoo contract, the plan you migrate to will be determined by the number of sheets you are using at the time of migration.
Migrating to a newly created organization or an organization without a Cacoo contract

If you are using 7 or more sheets
You will migrate to a Pro Plan trial. To continue using Cacoo, you will need to subscribe to the Pro Plan during the trial period or within 14 days after the trial period ends.
When the trial period ends, your plan will not switch to the Free Plan. If you do not subscribe, you will no longer be able to use Cacoo.
If you are using fewer than 7 sheets
You will migrate to the Free Plan.
Once restrictions apply, a screen prompting migration to another plan will appear after you log in. Please follow the on-screen instructions.
Migrating to an organization with a Cacoo contract
You will migrate to the Cacoo plan the organization is currently subscribed to. Note that you cannot migrate in the following cases:
- You are not a contract administrator of the organization
- Your account in the organization has been deactivated
- The number of sheets after migration would exceed the limit of the organization’s plan
What we ask of you
Check your plan
First, please check whether you are using one of the plans being discontinued. You can check by following these steps:
- Log in to Cacoo
- Click your icon and name in the upper right of the global bar
- In the menu that appears, check whether there is a “Legacy plan spaces” heading under “Profile.” If there is, you are using an affected plan.
Reduce your sheets
The plan you migrate to is determined by the number of sheets you are using. If you would like to migrate to the Free Plan, please reduce your sheets to fewer than 7 before migrating.
Export the data you need
If you plan to reduce your sheets or stop using Cacoo, please export the data you need in advance. For details on exporting, please refer to How to export.
Migrate to another plan
If you are using the Legacy Free Plan, you can migrate by following the steps below until the discontinuation date.
- Log in to Cacoo and open your legacy plan space
- Click “Update Free Plan”
- Check the plan you will migrate to, then create a new organization or select an existing one to migrate to
After the discontinuation date, a screen prompting migration will appear when you log in. Please follow the on-screen instructions. If you are using the Plus Plan, you can migrate after your contract period ends and your plan transitions to the Legacy Free Plan.
Deadline
Please reduce your sheets and complete the migration by the day before restrictions apply.
The date restrictions apply differs by plan. Please see “What changes after the discontinuation.”
Closing remarks
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to users of the affected plans, and appreciate your understanding. If you are using any plan other than the Plus Plan or Legacy Free Plan, you are not affected and can continue using Cacoo as usual.
