Nulab opens Amsterdam office!
Our headquarters may be in Fukuoka, Japan, but Nulab is a global brand serving customers across Japan, the United States, Taiwan, Vietnam, China, India, Canada, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, Australia, and more. And now, we’re opening our next office in Amsterdam!
Why Amsterdam?
We chose Amsterdam for our next office location for a few reasons. First, it’s an international city with a rapidly growing tech market and diverse talent. Plus, the city itself has a vibrant culture—not to mention being home to Heineken and stroopwaffles.
Location wise, it’s central to many of the European countries we want to reach. This means we can provide better customer service to our European users, and form closer partnerships with their tech communities.
Adding an office between Japan and the US also means more working hours of the day for us Nulabers to collaborate. Which means we can deliver product updates and new features faster than ever to you, our users.
A look back at our history
From the beginning, Nulab has aimed to make fun products that help creative teams collaborate. Starting in 2004, our three founders started with a project management app, Backlog, where teams could manage tasks, track bugs, and handle version control all in one place. It took off in the local tech community in Fukuoka, Japan, and the company started to grow. Soon, we were expanding into Tokyo in 2006.
In 2009, Cacoo was created to give teams a diagramming tool to better visualize their ideas. Today, there are over 2,500,000 users across the globe.
Nulab expanded again with a Kyoto office in 2010 followed by Singapore, Taiwan, and Indonesia in 2011.
Then in 2013, along came Typetalk, our team chat app helping teams facilitate important conversations, feedback, and requests.
In 2014, we opened our US office, and launched Nulab Accounts, so users can manage all three apps with a single sign-on.
2018 will be a special year for us and our continued growth. Setting up shop in Amsterdam gives us a unique opportunity to serve a diverse European market.
