Collaborate in real-time with Backlog’s new online document editor

For over a decade, Backlog has helped teams stay organized, and, as work evolves, so do the tools we need. Today, with remote work and digital collaboration becoming the norm, managing documents across multiple platforms has become a major challenge. This is why we’re so excited to introduce Backlog’s new online document editor, a seamless solution for creating, editing, and collaborating on documents in real time — all within Backlog. No more switching tools or losing track of versions. Whether you’re drafting plans or capturing meeting notes, everything happens in one place. This feature is an integral step in our vision to make Backlog the ultimate project management tool. We can't wait to see how teams use it and look forward to hearing your feedback as we continue to improve and integrate new capabilities.
What is the Document feature?
The Document Feature lets you and your team create and edit documents in real time — just like in Google Docs — but all within Backlog. No more juggling between platforms or searching for the latest version of a document. Now, everything stays in one place, making your workflow smoother and more efficient. Using this new feature, teams can work together on rich-text documents, supporting simultaneous edits from up to 12 users at a time. Whether you’re capturing meeting notes or drafting a project plan, you can edit collaboratively, helping work move faster and smoother without any disruptions.
Key features
Let’s take a look at what makes the Document feature so powerful and how you can start using it:

- Project documentation: Collaborate on project documentation to enhance clarity and reduce miscommunication among team members.
- Feedback and revisions: Facilitate a streamlined review process by drafting documents and incorporating feedback through comments.
- Knowledge sharing: Maintain up-to-date best practices and training materials collaboratively, ensuring everyone has access to the latest information.
- Brainstorming sessions: Document ideas and suggestions live during brainstorming sessions, making it easy to compile and refine concepts.
