Latest improvements to the Backlog AI Summary feature

Backlog’s AI Summary feature, introduced last November with OpenAI, was a game-changer in helping you manage your issues more efficiently. Since then, we've been listening closely to your suggestions and are excited to announce some fantastic updates that make the AI Summary feature smarter and more user-friendly than ever before. Here’s what’s new:
New suggested reply feature
As part of our upgrade to our AI feature, we’re excited to introduce AI-generated suggested replies. Based on the summarized content, Backlog will now suggest reply comments. Simply select and click on one of the suggested texts, and it will be inserted into the comment field for you. This feature is perfect for those times when you need to respond quickly but still want to provide a thoughtful and relevant reply. Plus, it might even give you some phrase ideas you hadn’t thought of on your own!
New summarize button placement
Previously, the summarize button was located only at the top of the issue screen. This meant that if you were scrolling through a lengthy issue or opened an issue from a notification, you had to scroll all the way back up to access it. We’ve now added a Summarize button to the bottom right corner of the screen. With this update, you can now click the Summarize button without having to scroll back up to the top. This makes it super convenient to quickly grasp the content of an issue, even if you’re already deep into a discussion or reviewing comments that have been in progress for a while.
How to set it up
To use the AI Summary feature, you’ll need to issue an API key from OpenAI and register it in Backlog. Check out our Integrate with OpenAI guide for detailed setup instructions.
